AmeriCorps Term of Service / Spring 2024
Mountain T.O.P. uses a Field Guide to help volunteers understand the process of building standard projects such as porches, ramps, and stairs. As a former Service Project Manager, I was acutely aware of pain points and opportunities for improvement with the old Field Guide. I entirely overhauled the Field Guide, rewriting instructions and creating all of the drawings and diagrams. Over 600 volunteers used the new Field Guide during the summer of 2024 and it received praise from veterans and new volunteers alike. Some people even requested to buy their own copies!
